Dandi-Burger Recipe:

Scout's Guide to Wild Edibles (Affiliate)
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1/4 tsp basil, dried
2 Tbsp nuts, ground
1/4 cup skim milk powder
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup onion greens
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 cup dandelion petals (yellow part)
1 egg (or equivalent)*
(*Dry ingredients can be pre-mixed for camping convenience.
Powdered egg can be used rather than a fresh egg.)
- Mix ingredients into a stiff dough
- Divide into 4 portions and shape into patties
- Fry both sides until golden brown
- Serve on a bun with lawn salad! ;)
Lawn Salad:
Greens, chopped - ours included lamb's quarters, basil, oxeye daisies, hyssop, wild bergamot, goutweed, orache, lettuce, dandelion greens, nasturtium leaves and flowers, caragana blossoms, & oxeye daisy petals.
(Choose whichever edible greens are accessible to you from your lawn, garden or grocery aisle)
Dressing:
1 part oil, 1 part fruity vinegar, 1 part sweet (ex.maple syrup)
Mix together, add dressing, garnish with an edible flower!
