Adventures in beekeeping
Years ago we came across the Flow Hive system and the idea of beekeeping blossomed in our minds. But while we were living in the far north it wasn’t very feasible, but now that we have moved to a more suitable location we felt we had to give it a try!
This is a little peek into the adventures that we’ve had so far. Although we had hoped to have two hives to start, last winter was a particularly harsh one for the bee populations so we were only able to secure one nuc.
We are not experts in this area, but we wanted to invite you along on our journey as new beekeepers. And of course, we upped our difficulty factor by trying something new. Most beekeepers use a traditional Langstroth method but we are attempting to integrate the Flow Hive system. Wish us luck (& honey)!
